Dune Remake Confirmed

I am an unabashed fan of the Frank Herbert novel, Dune. I’ve read every book, sequel, prequel, and adaptation that Herbert or his son have written on the macrocosm of the world created in the original novel. I even have a doft spot in my heart for the campy David Lynch movie (and his extended version that would not be claimed) by the same title. I’m not so much on the Sci-Fi Channel remakes, but that’s not the point. Producer Kevin Misher is confirming that Peter Berg will direct a Dune remake. Let’s hope that there will be no remake of Sting’s art deco codpiece…

Carrying a Big Stick

It is no secret that I am a gun junkie. It’s also no secret that I am in the gun business as a manufacturer and a dealer. Pictured above is an FN Patrol Bolt in .308 that has been integrally suppressed by John’s Guns, a Dark Horse Arms company. It is designed to use sub-sonic ammunition for the perfect combination of power and stealth. Sounds about like taking an air wrench off a compressor when fired. There are many uses for a suppressed (silenced) weapon: hearing protection of yourself and others, not disturbing the neighbors, not startling adjacent wildlife. Varmint control, especially wild hogs, is top of the list with something like this.
