High School Girls In Prison

At the end of July I wrote about how my oldest daughter’s high school was becoming embroiled in a cheerleader hazing incident. Well, yesterday, a Harris County grand jury indicted seven former Morton Ranch High School varsity cheerleaders for allegedly hazing junior varsity cheerleaders, a class B misdemeanor. If convicted, the cheerleaders could face a maximum of six months in jail and a fine of $2,000. More likely, they will have a combination of community service, jail time and a fine. Since this is the first indictment under the Harris County hazing laws, I suspect that an example will be set. Nobody got hurt. But poor judgment was in abundance!
