NCAA Round One Upsets

West:
#9 Texas A&M beats #8 BYU
#12 West Kentucky beats #5 Drake
#13 San Diego beats #4 Connecticut

South:
The chalk won every game

Midwest:
#12 Villanova beat #5 Clemson
#13 Siena beat #4 Vanderbilt
#11 Kansas St. beat #6 USC
#10 Davidson beat #7 Gonzaga

East:
#9 Arkansas beat #8 Indiana

Given that there was only one bracket where the favorite won every game (the South), there were a lot of upsets to enjoy in the first round of the “big dance”. The question is… which upset is the most profound. In my mind, the impact upset is a virtual tie between Siena pounding the dog snot out of Vandy or Villanova rallying from 18 down to beat Clemson. Your choice?

Let The Driving Begin

The wildflowers that the state of Texas works so hard to sow along our highways have started to bloom. Bluebonnets, indian paintbrush, DYF, and more are starting to burst out like crazy. If you are anywhere south of Interstate 20 (this weekend), get out and take a drive and enjoy the beauty. It’s worth the price of the gasoline. Aside from the buzzing of the bees, there’s something utterly delightful in laying in a field of flowers. Go… now!
