WTF Movie Scenes

There are certain movies that require you to stop channel surfing. Any Clint Eastwood western, The Blues Borthers, Top Gun, etc. Top Gun was on the other night and I had to watch. The infamous beach volleyball scene was on. A completely incongrous, homo-erotic scene that doesn’t fit in any way, shape or form with the rest of the movie. I was going to have a poll to vote on what is the worst WTF movie scene, but I couldn’t come up with anything besides this. What could possibly be worse than this?

Wii Not Me

I am one of the few folks in the country (maybe the entire industrialized world) that has not ever had a gaming system attached to the TV. That all ended after my recent road trip. After months and months of attempts, I was finally able to secure a Wii for my wife and kids. It’s all set up. Dance Dance Revolution is not recommended for white males with neuropathy and no rhythm. Using the controller wrist straps is VERY important.

Tales Of Spam Woe

I’ve lamented the scourge of spam on numerous occasions. I do not like spam. I do not like it, damn, damn, damn. You must admit that things are getting worse, not better, though. Take poor ol’ AT&T as an example. They sent out an email notice to their customers notifying them of a change in the terms of service (ToS). Yep, AT&T’s own spam filters deleted many of the emails because it thought they were spam.

Phasers On Stun

This whole thing is rather bizarre. Yes, Shatner over-acted in the campy, cult favorite, Star Trek. Yes George Takei, who played Sulu on the show, surprised nobody when he came out of the closet and declared his homosexuality in 2005. And Shatner’s caricature of himself as the egotistical, swashbuckling super lawyer on Boston Legal is downright hilarious.

So did Sulu invite Captain Kirk to his recent wedding or not? Takei says his people got in touch with Shat’s people. But Shat says he never got the 411 and went off on a Youtube rant. Does anyone really care? Does anyone not recognize this for a continuing publicity stunt? Boldly going where no man has gone before, indeed.
