I’m not even close to being the first person to blog about the WiFi aggregator box known as Slurpr. Essentially, this cross between the Borg and a hedgehog sniffs out, coneect to, and aggregates as many as six simultaneous open WiFi connections from around it and turns into one big fat broadband connection. Cool, eh? Just about every write up on the gadget has had a caveat along the lines of “freeloading on somebody else’s WiFi connection without prior permission is considered a crime in many countries, so read up on the local law before firing the Slurpr up.” Is it right to employ this device? And by right, I mean is it thieving, and therefore wrong? To me, this is along the lines of somebody saying that somebody who burgles a house should not be able to employ the “it’s the victim’s fault because he left the doors and windows unlocked” defense.

It’s not the biggest diamond in the world. And it’s certainly not perfect. But 13 year old Nicole Ruhter did manage to spot this 2.93 carat wonder while playing around in the Arkansas Crater of Diamonds state park. Not bad at all!
