Gun In Trash

WICHITA, Kan. – A Wichita man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the hand from a pistol that was thrown in the trash, sheriff’s officials said. The 42-year-old man, who was not identified, was helping unload trash Tuesday and accidentally hit the trigger of a discarded short-barreled pistol, wounding his left hand, said Sedgwick County sheriff’s Capt. Mike Oliver. Oliver said witnesses heard the pop and saw the man with blood on his hand at a Wichita trash transfer station Tuesday morning. The gun was loose in the trash and covered with mud. Investigators want to know why it had been thrown away and said it wasn’t immediately clear if the gun was used in a crime.

Wasn’t clear if the gun was used in a crime? Should say “wasn’t clear *which* crime the gun was used in.

Vista: Turd In Punchbowl?

The more that I see of Vista, the less I like it. Microsoft is already getting sued for handing out “Vista Ready” labels for computers that are anything but. I suppose Vista is nifty for individuals that want the latest and greatest and are looking for ways to spend money that is burning a hole in their pockets. But if you need to actually do any heavy lifting with your PC, stay with XP. Networking, supporting, etc. are all problematic and their are driver issues galore. Take, for instance, my spiffy new Dell laptop that came loaded with Vista Home Premium (even though I begged for XP). As soon as it phoned home to get patches and updates, there were driver conflicts that could not be resolved! Joy.
